If you’re from here, you already know: Opening Day in St. Louis isn’t just a baseball game, it’s basically a citywide holiday.
The definition of “working from home” gets stretched to breaking point. Red shows up in every closet. Beers are cracked before noon. And even if you don’t know who’s starting at short, you’re probably still heading downtown.
This week’s issue is full of what to eat, where to go, and what not to miss, plus a few picks for after the 7th inning stretch. Let’s get into it.****

Our quick-hit highlight section of the things we most recommend this week.
🍸 Experience – Last Week at the Pink Pony Club
This is your last chance to dance under the neon lights at Pink Pony Club, the dreamy, disco-drenched pop-up bar tucked inside Hidden Gem on Locust.
Inspired by the Chappell Roan song of the same name, this spot brings full-on sequined cowgirl energy — pink lighting, retro motel vibes, themed cocktails, and just enough sparkle to forget it’s still March in Missouri.
It’s $5 to get in, 21+ only, and reservations are highly encouraged unless you’re ready to play the walk-in lottery.
Grab your bestie, your rhinestone boots, and go live your main character moment — this pop-up rides off into the sunset after Saturday, March 29.
📍 Hidden Gem, 3118 Locust St 🗓️ Final week: now through Saturday, March 29

🍴 Eat – Good Strangers Lands on Cherokee
A cozy, Greek-inspired coffee shop with very good vibes just opened on Cherokee Street. Good Strangers is the passion project of Sarah Fisher, a hospitality vet who brought her love of philoxenia (Greek for “friend to strangers”) back home to STL.
Think bright, plant-filled interiors, a kid-friendly play corner, and a bar made from vintage tile and Cherokee Street stories. The menu’s just as thoughtful—tahini lattes, bagel sandwiches with fig jam and Havarti, and breakfast tacos that sell out fast.
📍 2416 Cherokee Street 🕗 Daily - 8 AM – 5 PM
🍳 Eat More! – Biscuit Town Pops Up in The Grove
Breakfast hours just got better thanks to Biscuit Town, a new ghost kitchen slinging flaky biscuit sandwiches and umami hashbrowns out of The Grove. It’s pickup and delivery only, but trust us — these are worth the early scroll.
Some standouts: 🌶️ The Sneaky Biscuit – Hot honey butter, crispy bacon, eggs, cheddar, and seasoned hashbrowns, all on a buttery biscuit. 🔥 The Jerk Chicken Sausage – Sweet heat with jerk mayo, fresh herbs, pickled red onions, and crunch. 🥑 Huevos Rancheros – Refried beans, lime crema, cotija, and all the good stuff, biscuit-style. ✨ Umami Hashbrowns – Salty, tangy, sweet. Basically perfect.
📍 4176 Manchester Ave 📱 Order on Toast, GrubHub, or DoorDash ⏰ Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat — 8 to 11 AM
🏡 Zillow of the Week
1221 Mackay Pl, Saint Louis, MO 63104
This massive Lafayette Square renovation has all the charm you’d expect from a 1908 home, plus some very 2025-level upgrades. Think designer bathroom, huge modern kitchen, and off-street parking (yes, in the city).
You get a main-level bedroom and bath, perfect for guests or working from home without tripping over the dog, and the upstairs primary suite brings big comfort energy: walk-in tiled shower, flex space for an office or nursery, and closets that can actually hold your stuff.
Add in arched brick doorways, skylights, original fireplaces, a private deck, and walking distance to Lafayette Park - and you’re looking at one of the most livable historic homes in the city.
📍 Lafayette Square 🛏️ 4 bed | 🛁 3 bath | 📐 4,208 sq ft 💵 $645,000 | 🧱 Built in 1908
📸 STL Throwback
Each week, we’ll dust off the archives to share a vintage photo and the quirky, fascinating, or downright bizarre story behind it. Because every corner of this city has a story — and half of them are weird.
1963 Busch Stadium Opening Day Scorecard
**Cardinals 7, Phillies 0 | Busch Stadium 1Attendance: 22,050 | Time: 2 hours, 20 minutes Pitcher: Curt Simmons | Complete Game Shutout**
Let’s rewind to April 13, 1963. When Opening Day tickets were cheap, the beer was cold, and a vintage cartoon cardinal graced the scorecard for just a dime.
Curt Simmons took the mound and tossed a complete game shutout, giving up just five hits and no runs. The bats? Loud. Homers from Carl Sawatski, Julian Javier, and Dick Groat (yes, a shortstop triple and a home run 👀) powered the Cards to a smooth 7–0 win over the Phillies.
This was baseball the way your grandpa swears it used to be. And for one sunny Saturday in 1963, he might’ve been right.
👶Oh yeah, we had a baby last Tuesday. So if anything in this issue looks like it was written with one hand while holding a newborn… it was. Send your complaints to him. 😉
